RE:TURN, RE:PURPOSE, RE:CLO INITIATIVE

We know that you are going to love your RE:CLO garments and are confident our high-quality materials and graphics will be able to withstand a long period of use. That’s why we recommend that if you want to minimise the impact that fashion has on the environment, you should keep wearing our products for as long as possible before you think about what to do with them at the perceived ‘end’ of their life. However, we are not naïve to the fact that for some people, keeping a garment for years and years is not always possible – we realise that for a whole host of reasons from preference to growth to weight gain / loss, people sometimes want a switch up with their clothes. Therefore, despite advocating for slow-fashion, we will not turn our back on the RE:CLO garments that we realise unfortunately may end up stuck in a wardrobe, or worse, thrown into landfill.

This is why, unlike other sustainable clothing brands, we have made sure we maintain interest in what happens to our products at the end of their life and have set up our RE:TURN, RE:PURPOSE, RE:CLO Initiative. This should hopefully provide consumers with every opportunity to help us prevent our products from ending up stuck in wardrobes or in landfill.

The initiative is simple and easy to follow:

RE:TURN: You can return our products to us for free at the end of their life (minimum 12 months from purchase) by requesting a pre-paid return sticker online.

RE:PURPOSE / RE:CLO: Our experienced team can then examine the products and depending on their condition, make an informed decision on whether to RE:PURPOSE or RE:CLO the clothing item so that the garment can have a new lease of life and stay out of landfill. RE:PURPOSE includes making limited edition cut-and-sewn garments or donations of our clothes to various charities and will always be our preferred option as it is the most environmentally-friendly way to extend the garments life. RE:CLO means using experienced contract manufacturers to take our garments, recycle their cottons and turn them into virgin raw materials to make new products. This is an option to recycle our products into something useful – we are mindful that this option will still require some energy and water to do so, though, and hence this our last resort.

RE:WARD: In return for your effort to RE:TURN, RE:PURPOSE, RE:CLO your old garments, we will give you 10% off your next order.

This circular economy strategy, which we feel at RE:CLO is the future of sustainable living, can be summarised by the visual below:
